apples almost in bloom May 17, 2011

Last night we took a quick ride up to the orchard to check the bees. We’ve got 4 hives up there and they all doing well with all the food out there for them. Lots of nectar and pollen coming in from the dandelions, wild plums and wild mustard that are in bloom. In about two days the apples will be in bloom –thank goodness the forecast calls for clear skies! Let’s hope it stays that way — last year wasn’t the best of years with that snow/rain crap during the bloom.  Here’s to 2011 rocking the free world up at the orchard!
